Selecting the right hydraulic press starts with calculating the required cylinder diameter based on your pressing force needs.

Cylinder Diameter Formula:

D = √(4F / πP)
D = Cylinder Diameter (mm)
F = Required Force (N)
P = System Pressure (MPa)
π = 3.14159

Calculation Example

For 100 ton press at 25 MPa system pressure:

D = √(4 × 1,000,000 / 3.14159 × 25) = 225.7 mm
