Deep drawing
Also called: deep draw, drawing, sheet-metal drawing
Deep drawing is a sheet-metal forming process in which a punch pulls a flat blank into a die to make a hollow part, such as a cup, pot, sink or housing, whose depth can exceed its diameter.
It needs controlled force through the whole stroke and a blank holder to stop wrinkles. Hydraulic presses suit deep drawing because they deliver full force at any point of the stroke.
