Honed tube
Also called: cylinder barrel, cylinder tube, honed barrel
A honed tube is the steel tube that forms the body of a hydraulic cylinder. Its inside surface is honed, meaning finished with abrasive stones, to an accurate diameter and a very smooth surface, so the piston seals can slide without wear or leakage.
Tubes are typically cold-drawn from steel such as St52.3 / E355, with the bore held to a tolerance class such as H8 or H9.
