Hydraulic power unit
Also called: power pack, HPU, hydraulic power pack
A hydraulic power unit is the assembly that supplies pressurised oil to the machine: an electric motor, a pump, an oil tank, filters, valves, and often a cooler and gauges.
Its design decides much of a machine's energy use and oil temperature. An oversized or poorly controlled unit wastes power as heat.
